CENTRE LGBTIQ+ CIGALE WELCOMES YOU
Centre of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer + communities
THE RECOGNITION OF LGBTIQ+ PEOPLE IN LUXEMBOURG
CIGALE is a professional office which offers advice and support to every person having questions regarding sexual orientation, coming-out and gender identity. CIGALE was created in 2002 and is officially recognized by the Ministry of Family, Integration and the Greater Region. Our Centre welcomes the LGBTIQ+ community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer) and every person interested in topics related to sexual and gender diversity.
We organise various events and strive to promote the visibility and non-discrimination of LGBTIQ+ people in Luxembourg by offering different services.
CIGALE is a community Centre which offers a safer space for sexual and gender minorities. We offer individual counselling sessions, group and leisure activities, as well as wellbeing workshops to empower the lives of our communities.
CIGALE is a competence Centre which offers professional training on sexual and gender diversity for the formal and non-formal education sector, for youth and social workers, for medical staff, for public administrations and companies. Every year we integrate various school projects or offer awareness sessions in schools and youth centres.
CIGALE is a documentation and resource Centre with more than 1000 publications and books specialised in LGBTIQ+ topics. We regularly organise conferences for a wider audience and we participate in the dissemination of queer culture by conceiving and promoting artistic activities (reading nights, exhibitions, films, theatre, etc.)
CIGALE is an advocacy Centre giving a voice to the struggles of the LGBTIQ+ community. We listen to the needs of our community, collect data and write reports with specific recommendations, which we submit to national authorities.
Every Thursday from 12:30 to 14:30, the Croix-Rouge luxembourgeoise comes to the center to do HIV, hepatitis C and syphilis screenings. Consults are free, anonymous and without having to make an appointment.

CIGALE coordinates and carries out a large range of short- and long-term projects. Here a selection of a few of them.
